The Renewable Energy for Sustainable Growth – Matchmaking Conference & Exhibition 2017- is the international annual event dedicated to advancing renewable energy for rural electrification and agricultural development.

The event is set to venture into the Rwandan and East African renewable energy market and provide an international business and partnerships platform by highlighting attractive investment opportunities. The two-day conference & exhibition for renewable energy will engage private and public sector players for networking, dialogue, technology exhibition and knowledge exchange to scale-up the use of renewable energy for sustainable growth.
The second day is focused on commercial small and medium hydropower project development in Rwanda and the region.

This event takes place at the heart of Kigali, through a combination of in-depth panel and expert discussions with senior-level members from the government and key business leaders and pioneers.

In addition, the event features a training on Financing and Risk Management for Small Hydropower Projects, open for Hydropower developers who are members of Energy Private Developers (EPD) Rwanda. The training is delivered by the Renewable Energy Performance Platform (REPP). This takes place one day prior to the conference on 18 Oct 2017.

How Does The Matchmaking Work?

A matchmaking event is a quick and easy way to meet potential cooperation partners to judge a possible future collaboration. People meet and greet at high speed.  20 minutes are usually enough to build connections, then the bell rings and the next meeting starts.

1. Registration
During the registration, you can indicate if and when you are available for bilateral meetings. This determines up to how many meetings you can manage later on.

2. Set up a profile
Next, you create your own cooperation profile. The profile should describe what kind of technology, product, partnership, investment, expertise, etc. you are offering or looking for. The better the quality of your profile the more and qualified meeting requests you can expect and the higher the chance that the meetings will have an impact. Your profile will be visible on the event website to other participants and visitors.

3. Request meetings
Browse the other participants and send meetings requests to those companies you would like to meet at the event. Meeting requests that are accepted are scheduled on fixed time-slots and tables prior to the event.

4. Build connections at the event
A few days prior to the event you will receive an email with your meetings schedule showing who you will meet, what time, and the table number where the meeting will take place. Your schedule will also be printed at the site.
